I Think I'm Ready to Convert

It all started with an ad...doesn't it always? Now that I'm heading to grad school, I've been thinking I want a new laptop. The one I have now is four years old and I really don't want to be afraid of the moment my computer decides to die in the middle of my research.

So I saw the "Security" Apple ad and it affected me. I am a PC girl and knew I wanted the most up-to-date version of hardware and software, but was Vista really that prohibitive?

Then, yesterday, I saw a black Mac book up close. It's so pretty! All rounded edges and big, separated keys. Arial font looked so nice and soft on the screen. It was then I decided.

I know tuckergurl will laugh when she reads this, but...I think the next computer I buy will be an Mac. Now I just have to rework my budget to pay for it.

Oh I am laughing. I am laughing. Macs are the COOLEST computers in the world. I would wait until you start school because I am sure there will be a good academic discount.

I was a PC girl until about 3 years ago when I switched to my iMac. I'll never own a PC again. I even work in an office that uses Macs. You'll love it!

You all forget that I get a discount through the place I work now.

However, I will wait because of two reasons: 1. the updated operating system, Leopard, rolls out this spring and it looks AMAZING...especially that Time Machine thing; and 2. my brother tells me that the prices are going down in June. I tell you, having a teenage brother is a very good thing.
